Collection: Mudcloth

African Mudcloth is a traditional fabric from Mali that is dyed with fermented mud and vegetable dyes. In the past, the cloth was sun-dried and then painted repeatedly with fermented mud. The mud then chemically reacts with the plant matter, leaving the cloth a rich brown even after the mud is washed off.

Each pattern has it´s own story to tell that is passed down from generation to generation.
